Accessibility statement

The Public Book Agency undertakes to provide accessibility in accordance with the Act on the Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications and EU Directive 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council. This accessibility statement applies to the website https://sloveniafrankfurt2023.com.

Compliance level

The Slovenia Frankfurt 2022 website is written in HTML5 and uses CSS3 style templates (Cascading Style Sheets) for the design of web pages. jQuery JavaScript library is used for interactions and certain functionalities. The operation and appearance of the websites is checked in all popular older and newer browsers and on various devices and operating systems.

The Slovenia Frankfurt 2022 website has been prepared in accordance with international guidelines for the accessibility of web content and meets the WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.0 standard. Compliance corresponds to level AA.

Additional help in the form of hints for input fields, buttons and links is intended for less skilled web users.

Accessibility features

A part of the website is a special tool that enables additional website accessibility features. It appears when you click on the accessibility icon in the lower right corner. The user is enabled to:

  • easier navigation with keys on the keyboard,
  • using a larger mouse pointer, in white or black,
  • increasing color contrast,
  • displaying colors in grayscale,
  • dark mode white on black
  • using a standard font more suitable for people with dyslexia,
  • larger font size; bold font,
  • highlighted links; titles in capital letters.

The use of the website is made even easier for visitors with keyboard shortcuts:

  • show accessibility options (Ctrl + U),
  • display index of web pages (Ctrl + Alt + K),
  • return to home page (Ctrl + Alt + D),
  • return to home page (Ctrl + Alt + D),
  • Close the pop-up window (Esc),
  • Move focus to next element (Tab),
  • Move focus to previous element (Shift + Tab),
  • Click the focused element (Enter)
  • Check/uncheck the checkbox (Space).
Unavailable content

We constantly monitor the website accessibility https://sloveniafrankfurt2023.com and continuously improve individual accessibility elements. Nevertheless, some of the published content does not meet all the accessibility requirements as defined by the Act on the Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications.

Examples of such content are:

  • scanned documents in PDF format,
  • software-generated documents (e.g. annual reports),
  • various complex data tables.

Based on the request, we send you inaccessible documents.

Possible improvements

The website uses the JavaScript script language for normal operation, a better overall user experience and greater security. Without adequate browser support, navigation is difficult and the display and sending of online forms in pop-up windows does not work.

In the event that the browser does not support CSS, all information can still be accessed, but some content may be duplicated or redundant. The website code contains additional texts intended for display on screens of different sizes or appear during certain actions.

Being independent of JavaScript and CSS templates would mean a major change in the design and way the website works.

Many WCAG and WAI-ARIA guidelines for improving website accessibility can be interpreted subjectively. Also, interpretations can change over time
