Mladen Dolar and Slavoj Žižek have jointly published a book with Suhrkamp, which has a title that speaks volumes: Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Lacan But Were Afraid to Ask Hitchcock. Besides Hegel, the French psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan is Žižek's most important reference.
His colleague at the University of Ljubljana and friend Mladen Dolar himself studied with Lacan in Paris and attended the seminars of Jacques Derrida and Michel Foucault in Paris. In his exchange with Žižek and his departure from the neo-structuralist French philosophers, Mladen Dolar has developed his own philosophy, which he will elaborate in the Philosophical Café of Romanfabrik in discussion with Ruthard Stäblein, who frequented these French thinkers in Paris at the same time as Dolar.
